How much technology use is too much? Does social media conceal or reveal our true identities? How can we find balance in a world in which we rely so heavily on technology in our daily lives? These are the big questions explored in CISB StageCats’ original production LIVE – questions that we ask ourselves everyday. In one way or another, many of us have experienced the struggle of navigating the vast and ever-changing world of social media and have considered the impact technology has on our personal relationships. These ideas are nothing new; they have been addressed throughout history in film, literature, art – the list is goes on. But for some reason these themes seem especially relevant now as children, teens and adults alike are bombarded by endless ways to connect…or disconnect.
When creating LIVE, we drew on elements from previous StageCats productions, as well as explored new methods of storytelling to create a unique theatrical experience – music, interpretive movement, student-created projections, dance and a fabulous lighting design by Grade 10 student Samuel Li!
LIVE played to two full houses on November 24th and 25th, 2017.
