We were thrilled when BHS Music Department directors Jeff MacQuarrie and Alysa Collins graciously invited us to get involved in the drama production. Meeting the cast of I Don’t Want to Talk About It, it was immediately clear how much talent and enthusiasm exists within the halls of BHS – and how much the students were craving an opportunity to perform live after these past two years of unexpected challenges and setbacks.

Confronting the daily challenges of growing up, the show looks at a wide range of issues – exposing the things teenagers can’t, won’t and don’t want to talk about. Throughout the rehearsal process, the students showed bravery, commitment and perseverance and, in doing so, were able to bring to light some of the darker aspects of life by facing them together.

I Don’t Want to Talk About It by Bradley Hayward played at the Gwendolyn Kent Auditorium on Tuesday, December 21st at 7:30pm. Unfortunately, the second performance was cancelled due to weather. Despite the many challenges and hurdles, the cast and crew is grateful that they were able to share one live in-person performance with the community.
